Sampson Fine Art Photography is an award winning, published, family owned business that has been based in the Chicago area for over 12 years. When you choose Sampson Fine Art Photography my wife, Jo, and I are the artists who will be working with you on your portrait, project or event. We are a multi-disciplined studio specializing in custom fine art portraiture, food and beverage photography, and restaurant photography. Our clients benefit from the talents of two artists as Jo and I collaborate on most every project, and when she isn't behind the camera she functions as our team's environmental, prop, and food stylist.
Together, Jo and I have over 30 years of photographic experience. I was trained at Columbia College, and attended courses at Winona International School of Professional Photography, as well as the Mid - America Institute of Professional Photography. I have also studied with such master photographers as David Ziser, Don Blair, Monte Zucker, Tim and Bev Walden, and Tim Kelly. I managed a successful portrait studio in Chicago's Northwest suburbs for over 9 years, and am currently a member of the Arlington Heights Arts Commission.
Jo received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and holds a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked for one of the finest commercial and food photographers in Chicago while attending school where she got on the job food styling training. She also worked as an architectural photographer for several years. We both remain current by attending lectures, classes, and workshops by industry leaders across the country.
